JACircuits Autocross Timer

The second generation JACircuits timer is designed to have outstanding efficiency and reliability at a reasonable cost.  Since the system is microprocessor based, it is quite flexible while remaining user friendly.  The system retains the same basic functionality of its predecessor but has been made more flexible and incorporates all of the suggested enhancements requested by current and potential customers over the last few years.   The hardware was designed to provide owners with a system that is very flexible, and can accommodate future enhancements.  The timer and has 2 serial ports and 1 parallel printer port for communicating with large format displays, PCs, and printers.   Currently, the timer software can run in 3 modes:

• Sequential Mode (up to 8 cars simultaneously)
• JACircuits Mode (emulate the original JACircuits timer)

• Optional Chrono Mode - Timer uses input to all 4 photoheads.  All control signals and timer status sent out serial port to PC

The Basic system comes with:

• timing unit (4 display)
• 2 photoheads (either retro-reflective laser or through-beam infrared)
• 2 100 foot cables (standard connectors)
• power cable (runs off the cigarette lighter)
• user's manual

These options further enhance the flexibility and robustness of the basic unit.  

• The internal battery is a rechargeable gel cell that allows 8-12 hour operation with no additional input power. This could be used as backup power or for truly portable operation.

• The large format display uses 6" digits and can be easily seen from 500 feet.  These are very popular at large Solo II events .
